The Alabama Vision & Hearing Center has two convenient locations: 790 Montclair Road in Birmingham, Alabama on the campus of Trinity Hospital (formerly Baptist Montclair Hospital and in the St. Vincent's 119 Health & Wellness Center located just off Hwy 280. We offer a Center of Excellence for Cataract, Refractive and Corneal Surgery and Hearing Services widely regarded as the premier facility for comprehensive vision correction procedures such as iLASIK and Premium Cataract Surgery. iLASIK, a significant improvement over traditional LASIK,is a blade-free all laser custom LASIK procedure with Intralase. For patients who are not ideal LASIK candidates we offer excellent alternatives such as PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy), ASA (Advanced Surface Ablation) and EpiLASIK. We were the first in Alabama to perform Refractive Lens Exchange (Clear Lens
Extraction) with ReSTORTM, ReZoomTM , Tecnis MultifocalTM and CrystalensTM. We also offer Visian ICLTM and Verisyse Phakic Lenses (implantable contact lenses), Cataract Surgery with traditional and advanced Multifocal Lenses, and Advanced Corneal Transplantation (DSAEK). Dr. Kloess is a Board Certified, Fellowship-trained Cornea Specialist and Eye Surgeon (Ophthalmologist). He received his training from Emory University School of Medicine, a leading institution in the field of laser refractive surgery and corneal transplantation. He is the founder and Medical Director of the Alabama Vision & Hearing Center. Dr. Velazquez is a Board Certified, Fellowship-trained Cornea Specialist and Eye Surgeon (Ophthalmologist). He received his training from Duke University, a renown institution for vision correction surgery.
