PRAISE IN THE PINES
On every 2nd Sunday of each month, we have "Praise in the Pines" in the old historice chapel. This 5:00 pm service is a time of singing, prayer and devotion featuring a variety of music and musical styles.
Purpose--praise and worship God in a casual environment outside Sunday morning which offers a safe venue for inviting non-churched friends.
Of course it is casual in dress and format and open to all people and ages. There will not be a nursery but children are welcome to sing and sway along with us.
The choir meets on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm.They are busy preparing music for the Christmas season. If you enjoy making a joyful noise, please come join them!
A new adult Sunday School class is meeting from 8:50 am until 9:45 am in the Annex in Room #4. The study, "The Light Will Shine" is a look at the Advent Season and its meaning. Young adults will be pleased to know that there is Sunday School available for all ages of children during this time.They meet in the Preschool Building. If interested please contact Phil Melton or Jessica Smith.
Are you in the need of prayer?Swift Church wants to extend an invitation to you to let us know when you have the need of prayers. You may email the church at swiftpc@gulftel.com with a request. In the subject line please insert "Prayer Request". Please indicate if you would just like the staff to pray for you, you would like to have your request put on the weekly Prayer Concerns list that is in the bulletin each Sunday or you would desire a call from the pastor or his assistant. You do not need to include your last name but please include your phone number if you want a call.
Ladies, you are invited to see what is going on with the Presbyterian Women of our church. Every woman that attends Swift should be a partipant in this group. Our next meeting will be December 9, our special Christmas meeting. It will be hosted at the home of the coordinator, Linda Hewitt. All ladies of Swift are encouraged to come. We have a great Bible Study and plan to do all kinds of projects this year.

The Youth have started collecting recyclable plastic cups, bottles, and aluminum cans for Habitat for Humanity. All proceeds will benefit Habitat. There will be a pitcher (to pour liquids and ice into) and a stainless steel bowl (to put cups, bottles, or cans in) on the counter between the kitchen and dining area in the fellowship hall every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. The youth will rinse them out, so we don't attract ants! If you would like to bring a bag of your own already rinsed out recyclables, that are separated, around the end of the month we will add that to our collection. Our goal is to take 3 bags of each, each month!
Youth, grades 6th-12th, have Sunday School from 9-9:45 am in the new education building. Youth activities and Bible Study are on Wednesdays 6:15-7:45pm. For more information, call the church office, 943-8367.
