Covenant Academy is a church school, as defined in Alabama legal code 16-28-3: Under this statute students between the ages of 7 and 17 must be enrolled in school.
From grade school to graduation Covenant Academy provides the legal covering that is required by the state while helping parents educate their children throughout the U.S. We offer homeschool and accelerated diploma services to families that want to provide their children with the education that they feel is needed to succeed in the world today. By enrolling at Covenant Academy, our parents will be complying with the school attendance law for their children ages 7-17.
Our friendly office staff, Charlotte or Ashley is available for information about all programs available, Monday 9:00am-12:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00am - 1:00pm.
December 21st - January 4th CHRISTmas & New Years
June 14- July 5- Summer vacation & 4th of July
Our homeschool program provides parents throughout the United States with the freedom to teach their children what parents feel that their children need to be taught. It is advised to check with your state school district as to the school laws in your area. Although we do have requirement for graduation, it is the parent responsibility to choose their own curriculum that they will use to teach, grade and test their children. Parents are required to provide the school staff with attendance reports and grades of their children progress. Local parents with children enrolled in the homeschool program may choose to dual enroll in the day school for classes if instruction is needed for subjects that the parents don’t feel comfortable teaching. For a small fee, local families may come to the school and have their child tested for grade placement if needed. Our office staff may also recommend curriculum if needed.
Our accelerated diploma program is designed to help students over the age of 17 that have quit school for whatever reason. Students who choose this program will do independent study similar to homeschool, but will test at the school campus. Credits for graduation will be earned as students complete each test required and the credits will be combined with the students previous credits in order to meet our graduation requirements.
Parents may choose which program that they feel is best suited for their child. A bible course is required for all programs that are available at Covenant Academy.
