What a roller coaster we have all been riding here on the Gulf Coast! Thank you for all of your concern, love, and support that poured our way during the recent crisis with the oil spill. Truly, it was your continued patronage that enabled LuLu's to weather this "storm." I thank you from the bottom of my heart, as does the entire staff at LuLu's.
The Gulf waters continue to heal. The beaches are beautiful, and yes, at times, "beach tar is on your feet" to paraphrase lyrics from a Joni Mitchell song from the 70's. But the Mother Ocean is mighty, and Nature has a mysterious way of healing itself. It is time to look forward. Life goes on and Life is good! Especially at LuLu's!
It's that time of year again- the kids have gone back to school, the locals come out of hiding, and there is a lull in the air. The weather just can't decide if it should hang on to summer or mosey on down into fall. This is one of the most wonderful times at LuLu's. The pace is slower and the crowds have thinned a little but the fun times are still rolling every day with great live music and the scrumptious Gulf Coast cuisine we all love.
The best thing you can do to continue our recovery efforts from the oil spill crisis is to jump in your car and come on down for a visit. We will welcome you with open arms, and I promise that you will have a wonderful time with your family and friends. We have so much happening for the remainder of this crazy year!
Labor Day will kick off our "Back to Normal Whatever That Is" Campaign with the rocking Cajun sounds of Roddie Romero. We are gearing up for a very fun Football Season on our 15 flat screens with "game-time specials." Boo Lu's, our annual Halloween haunted house, is just around the corner. Our Fresh Art Market will continue on the first Saturday of each month. November will bring our beloved "snowbirds" back, and I can tell you that one of my favorite fun days of the year at LuLu's is the day after Thanksgiving! Folks love to relax at LuLu's after being stuffed on turkey, all too ready for a cheeseburger or fried shrimp loaf! December brings Billy Claus, who drops by each year for a bowl of gumbo on his way to the North Pole and to gather the kids' letters to his brother Santa. Then we will ring in another New Year with the all time family favorite outing: Noon Year's Eve! Last year it was enormous, and we are planning for a bigger crowd with lots more events for the kids, young and not so young!
So come on down to the beaches you love! And make sure you stop by LuLu's who knows, you may find me cooking something special in my pink demo-kitchen on the sand.
With lots of Gratitude and Gumbo Love, I remain.
