ABOUT GRACE CHURCH
Grace Church is in itsfifty-first year of ministry. We are a congregation that values relationships. Our first priority is to be in relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Our Christian faith is the common center around which we gather in Worship, Nurture, and Service. We are an ecumenical congregation that is intentionally and distinctivelyUnited Methodist (http://www.umc.org) in our perspective, organization, and approach to ministry. We welcome all who seek a place of Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors.
Grace Church contributes tens of thousands of dollars each year to the world-wide ministries of the United Methodist denomination. These include ministries of evangelism, higher education, relief for the poor, peacemaking and social justice. Members of Grace are personally involved in mission projects through Alabama Rural Ministries (central Alabama) and Servants in Faith and Technology (Ecuador). Grace is a supporting congregation of Alabama ARISE, which provides legislative advocacy for the poor in our state. We contribute to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) through One Great Hour of Sharing and through the special offerings for various disasters and needs.
Locally, we participate in Habitat for Humanity through the We Help Coalition. Our members are active in the Red Cross, Lee County Literacy Coalition, and Mercy Medical Clinic. We also support the LifeSouth Blood Center, and wehelp sponsor the Community Market, a food-distribution service of East Alabama Food Bank.
