About the Studio
Dance Generation was established in 1937 as Loree Atkins School of Dance, making it one of the oldest established dance studios in the South. It has continued for more than three generations offering quality dance, baton, and gymnastic instruction.
We strive to give all students top quality instruction while providing an atmosphere that will show a passion for dance as well as love and a concern for children.
Our goal is for our students to be well educated in the dance field, have pride in their accomplishments, learn respect for themselves and others, build confidence and friendships, and have fun. We feel that our studio helps develop a love for the art of dance while preparing for life's many challenges.
We offer our students a chance to excel in all forms of dance, including tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical, gymnastics, and baton twirling.
Our well organized and structured classes are offered for ages three and up, beginning through advanced levels. Students are placed according to age and dance ability in classes that are limited for individual attention.
Whether dancing just for recreation or to become a serious competitive dancer, we have classes to meet each student's needs.
Students may participate in annual parades, spring recitals, competitions as well as other community performances. These performances are not mandatory. They are offered for the enjoyment and benefit of our students.
We take great pride in all of our students, from the young beginners just starting out to our award-winning competition teams and feel successful when former students return with their children and grandchildren wishing to give them the same experience they enjoyed.
