There was a time when a serious injury or illness, especially late in life, could take you away from your home forever. But now, with aggressive rehabilitative therapy, you can go home again.
With no warning, a slip and then a fall, a serious illness or a stroke: it can happen to anyone, and in an instant your life and the way you go about living has changed.
Due to so many advances in our lifetime, the National Center for Health Statistics reports that two million people survive some form of trauma every year. And often with survival comes some level of disability. This is why rehabilitation has become so important in healthcare. It often helps define the quality of life after trauma.
Learning to once again walk, talk, work and participate in life are the goals of successful rehab, and they are our goals for you as we work together.
Therapy recipients can experience increased strength and improved range of motion which will allow them to move through their day with greater ease and confidence.
"The therapists here have been a godsend. They got me up and walking again after my stroke even though I thought there was no hope. They've helped me with my speech so my grandson can understand me. I am very thankful."
The strength of any rehabilitation program is the ability of the players to work together. The patient and family are as vital to the team as the physician and other clinicians including physical therapists, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and nurses. Working together, each member contributes to success.
The emotional consequences can be as difficult as the physical. We approach education and communication seriously and feel they are as important as any element. With experience and compassion, the rehab team together with social services helps families and patients address their issues to realize optimal outcomes in every facet of life.
Crowne Health Care of Montgomery accepts private or self-pay patients and most private insurance policies. We also accept Medicare, Medicaid, and V.A. certified.
As the only company in the state of Alabama that is accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Healthcare for aide, companion and skilled care services, we set a high bar for care standards.
