Urology is the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the genitourinary system. Urologists treat problems involving the genital organs in the male as well as the problems of the urinary tract in both males and females, adults and children. The most common urology problems treated are urinary infections, urinary incontinence, impotence in males, kidney stones, and the diagnosis and treatment of cancer of the urinary tract. Some of the services offered within the office are Urodynamic Studies, Cystoscopic Procedures, Incontinence Training, Prostate Biopsy, Vasectomy, Ultrasound, Prolieve treatment for BPH (www.prolieve.com) and Interstim treatment for frequency (www.interstim.com).

North Alabama Urology is a team of caring professionals. Our physicians have completed extensive training in the specialty of urology and are prepared to treat any of the above conditions. Additionally, Dr Hinson has completed extensive training for the treatment of incontinence and Dr Hicks is the only urologist in north Alabama specifically trained to treat pediatric urological needs. As specialists, Doctors Hicks, Hinson and Zbell usually see patients through referral from primary care physicians, such as family practitioners and as insurance requires.
