West's Wood Works started in a double garage in 1979 on Laurel Street in Mobile Alabama. Trained by an American craftsman named Carl Williams, who built cabinets the right way, I have dedicated myself to maintaining that degree of craftsmanship in every piece of work I turn out.
Now it has grown to a 3,000 square foot shop located at 2670 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile with some of the finest equipment available. The shop is still run with the customer’s desires being the main objective of each and every project.
We use the finest materials including, but not limited to, birch, basswood, American walnut, mahogany, teak, maple, both hard and soft, oak, and pine when requested. You will never find any partical board in my shop. All joints are glued and fastened with either mortise and tendon or pocket drilled. There are many door options available in slab, panel back, and raised panel. Hardware is always of the finest quality with full extension slides being standard. Choices of hinges, pulls and knobs are plentiful and if I don’t have what you want I can get it for you.
Counter tops are available through West's Wood Works.
These tops are installed using the hand filing technique which gives the best overall results.
We use Wilsonart and Formica laminates for the finest in built up laminate tops. Samples are on hand at all times so you can choose from over a hundred colors and finishes.
Granite, real wooden butcher block and other solid surface tops are also available.
Resin poured table-tops (as seen in many restaurants) are produced by West's Wood Works.
Our job is not done until our customers are satisfied with our service, plain and simple. We will not ever assume you are happy with our service – we will ask you.
